Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes (with juices)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef or chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Making Process

  1. Heat Olive oil over medium heat in a large pot or oven. Add and bake the diced onion and bell pepper for 5 minutes until it becomes softened.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté it for 1 minute. Put and break ground beef and turkey into the pot with a spoon.
  3. Cook it for 8-10 minutes until it converts from pink color to brown and drain extra fats if important.
  4. Whisk tomato paste, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt and black pepper.
  5. Cook it for 1-2 minutes to salute the spices.
  6. Add diced tomatoes (with juices), kidney beans, and broth to the pot and mix well to combine.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and let the chili cook gently for 20 minutes, by mixing sometimes.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning as per your liking.
